ONLC Adds AI Workbench Essentials Course
ONLC's new 2-day Essential AI Workbench course is designed to equip non-programmers with the foundational skills to harness the capabilities of cutting-edge generative AI technology. Our AI course creates a friendly and supportive environment to learn how to copy programs from GitHub, pull them into VS Code editor and then make AI-powered modifications using the magic of Copilot X. Additionally, our Python programming overview provides the skills needed to make minor modifications to copied open source programs.

Attendees will gain hands-on experience implementing and debugging AI code with these state-of-the-art tools. No prior Python or programming experience is required; familiarity with basic computer concepts is enough to get started.

CompTIA is retiring Linux+ exam, XK0-004 effective January 16, 2023. Its replacement is Linux+ certification exam XK0-005. ONLC's hands-on, instructor-led Linux+ certification class has been updated for the -005 exam.

CompTIA's New A+ Certification Exams
Per CompTIA, A+ Certification Exams 220-1001 (Core 1) and 220-1002 (Core 2) will be retired effective October 20, 2022. They have released a new exam series for A+ Certification, specifically 220-1101 (Core 1) and 220-1102 (Core 2). Effective February 28, 2022, Microsoft is renaming Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate certification to Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate. Microsoft is also releasing a new exam for this certification, PL-300: Power BI Data Analyst. Find out more

Coming Soon: CompTIA Data+
The field of Data Analytics is growing by leaps and bounds as companies are realizing the value of their digital data to move business forward. To confirm proof of data literacy, CompTIA is introducing a new certification, DATA+. This certification is for professionals tasked with developing and promoting data-driven business decision-making.

Bye Bye MTA Certification
Microsoft is retiring Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) certifications. If you're working towards MTA certification you need to purchase exam vouchers (including possible retakes) by June 30, 2021. Those with MTA exam vouchers have until June 30, 2022 to pass the authorized exam.

Microsoft has replaced MTA with the Fundamentals level of their role-based certifications. Fundamentals certification is available for Azure, Security, Microsoft 365 Fundamentals, and Power Platform. Learn more about Fundamentals certification

Microsoft Ending SATV Program
Microsoft is ending their SATV program which included training vouchers from Microsoft for free technical training. SA vouchers must be created and assigned BEFORE July 01, 2021 and the class completed within 180 days or unused vouchers are void. Contact an ONLC Advisor for assistance if you have any unused SA Vouchers.

Microsoft Renaming Office 365 to Microsoft 365
Microsoft has renamed most of their Office 365 subscriptions to Microsoft 365. Current exceptions are Office 365 enterprise plans, specifically: Office 365 E1, Office 365 E3, and Office 365 E5. For the immediate future you'll still find Office 365 apps like Excel, Word, PowerPoint and more on our web site under Office 365 or the individual product names you can click from our home page. Red Hat Training Available at ONLC
ONLC has added Red Hat training to the curriculum. The first title added is Linux Red Hat 8 Administration Essentials which provides students with the most important and frequently performed administrative operations for a Red Hat or CentOS system.

Extension for Tableau Exams
Per Tableau and their online proctoring team, Tableau exams expiring between March 22, 2020 - July 30, 2020 now have an extended expiration date to July 31, 2020. [see Tableau]

Microsoft & Pearson Vue Grant Extensions
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, both Microsoft and Pearson Vue have announced some extensions, specifically:

• Microsoft is extending the retirement deadline for MCSA, MCSE and MCSD certifications to January 31, 2021.
• Pearson VUE is extending their exam vouchers set to expire between March 26 and August 31, 2020, to remain valid until January 31, 2021.

Additionally, Microsoft and Pearson VUE are working together to expand online testing capacity so candidates can take exams from their home or office.

ONLC Opens Jackson, MS Facility - The Company’s First Mississippi Location
