Overview

This course helps software teams move beyond ad-hoc “vibe coding” and adopt the BMAD (Breakthrough Method of Agile AI-Driven Development) framework within the Cursor IDE. Through a structured exploration of BMAD’s two pillars—Agentic Planning and Context-Engineered Development—participants will learn how to harness AI agents as collaborators, bring consistency to planning and coding, and accelerate delivery while maintaining clarity and quality.

By the end of the program, students will be able to guide AI-assisted workflows that preserve context, align with Agile practices, and deliver production-ready results.

Target Student

This course is designed for developers, team leads, and product-minded professionals who want to structure AI pair-programming inside Agile delivery. It is ideal for teams adopting Cursor and leaders responsible for shaping AI-assisted workflows.

Prerequisites

Participants should have experience with at least one programming language and basic familiarity with Git-based workflows. Knowledge of Agile principles is helpful but not required. No prior experience with Cursor or BMAD is assumed.

  • Overview of BMAD as the Breakthrough Method of Agile AI-Driven Development

Principles of AI-Driven Agile

  • What makes AI-assisted development different from traditional Agile
  • Roles of human oversight, iteration, and collaboration with AI
  • The importance of context preservation in team workflows

Agentic Planning

  • Understanding the role of Analyst, PM, and Architect agents
  • Creating clear and consistent PRDs and Architecture documents
  • Shifting from vague prompts to structured, reusable specifications
  • Classroom exercise: drafting and refining a lightweight PRD with AI assistance

Context-Engineered Development

  • How the Scrum Master, Dev, and QA agents build from story files
  • Ensuring context and guidance flow seamlessly into development tasks
  • The role of story files as “blueprints” for AI-assisted coding
  • Workshop: transforming a feature idea into a fully contextualized story

Working in Cursor with BMAD

  • Integrating AI agents into the Cursor IDE
  • Collaborating with AI across planning, development, and review
  • Strategies for reviewing, refining, and iterating AI-generated code

Applications Beyond Coding

  • Adapting BMAD workflows to product design, strategy, and business domains
  • Using expansion packs for non-technical applications
  • Framing AI agents as teammates in diverse industries

  • The evolving role of the leader in AI-driven projects

Capstone Workshop: Beyond Vibe Coding
